Enterprise Architecture
 

 

Definition and strategic planning of internal IT-architecture within an Enterprise Architecture is a topic of increasing importance in many corporations and enterprises.

 

Enterprise Architecture consists of three connected components:

  • Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM)
    Presentation of a model of the IT-Structure

  • Enterprise Information Management (EIM)
    Presentation of the information and data supply chain (internally/externally)

  • Process Management (PM)
    Illustration of the enterprise-wide business processes (HC, IC, SLA`s)

Describing these components within an "LifeCycle Model" ensures the creation of a common information base for all employees, a uniform communication level and an enterprise-wide level of understanding of IT architecture for all enterprise units (management, specialized divisions, business manager).

 

Another aspect which speaks for the introduction of an EA is the internal added value for the enterprise in the area of education, cost saving and more flexibility in enterprise decisions e.g.
